WEICHERT REAL ESTATE SCHOOL OFFERS CERTIFICATION COURSE IN SHORT SALES AND FORECLOSURES

--Course supports National Association of Realtors' Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource Certification--

MORRIS PLAINS, N.J., Sept. 16, 2009 - Weichert Real Estate School, an affiliate of Weichert, Realtors, one of the nation's largest privately held real estate companies, announced it is licensed to support the National Association of Realtors' (NAR) new Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource (SFR) Certification. Real estate professionals can now take the one-day Short Sales & Foreclosure Opportunities course at the Weichert Real Estate School as the first step in achieving the new SFR certification.

"In the current real estate market, it is important that Realtors are able to meet the needs of homebuyers and sellers of distressed properties," said Lou Cecconi, director for the Weichert Real Estate School.

The SFR certification program is offered by the Real Estate Buyer's Agent Council (REBAC) of NAR, and will recognize real estate professionals for the extensive knowledge and market insights they bring to transactions involving distressed properties. The program includes training on the management of short sale, foreclosure and bank-owned real estate transactions, and provides resources to help Realtors stay current on national and state-specific information. It will be the only short sale and foreclosure certification recognized by NAR.

"We are pleased to see NAR and REBAC take this important step in providing a formal certificate program to recognize the accomplishments of professionals engaging in short sales, foreclosure and bank-owned real estate transactions," added Cecconi.
