Corporate branding - The use of trade names, logos, trademarks, proprietary information and proven business systems.
Exclusive territory – You will be assigned an exclusive or protected territory (defined by zip codes and a population base of up to 300,000) to market and promote your business. Franchisees also have the option of purchasing more than one protected territory as long as the area is available.
Training - An extensive initial 5 day training is held at headquarters and off-site. Before the initial training in Long Beach, CA, you will be sent a package with pre-training materials including manuals, DVDs and books to review in order to get you familiar with interior plantscaping. Training will consist of (but not limited to) plant identification and proper care, hands-on lessons, nursery tours, business training and review of the expansive operations manual.
Experienced on-going support - You will have access to on-going support for all of your questions via phone and e-mail. You will also have the opportunity to attend franchisee meetings and training sessions in order to share ideas and thoughts that will strengthen the franchise system as a whole.
Manuals - A pre-opening manual and a full operations manual will guide you in operating a successful Growing Roots business.
Start-up kit - A tool kit will be provided at the initial 5-day training session that includes everything needed to start maintaining and servicing your first clients in your first month or so of business. Also, included with your tools will be a set of embroidered shirts that you will use as a company uniform.
Web site – As part of the franchise fee, you will be given a personal Web site for your Growing Roots business hosted by us. The general format of the site is established for you and you will only need to modify the information to meet your demographic area. Our web designer will assist you through this simple process.
Products and suppliers – You will have access to preferred vendors, some of which offer preferred pricing. We will also provide all catalogs available through these vendors along with color samples and color chips for containers. You will also receive a sample sales binder for use in sales calls.
Marketing & advertising – During the initial training we will cover marketing and advertising techniques and will review the marketing materials we utilize. You will be provided with some of the select marketing materials and the information for preferred printing vendors. We will provide assistance in creating the proper signage for your specific vehicle, through our preferred vendor or an approved local vendor,
Memberships – We will provide a one-year subscription to a couple of essential industry magazines and newsletters. During the initial training we will also discuss importance of networking locally and memberships with organizations such as the local chamber of commerce. Membership in certain professional organizations such as Plantscape Industry Alliance (PIA) and Green Plants for Green Buildings is required. Supporting other professional industry organizations may be beneficial and will be discussed during the training session.
