PR and Advertising Pro Turns Photography Hobby into Successful Business
Lisa DeAraujo spent 15 years working in the public relations and advertising industry, but was always interested in photography. While managing an in-house ad agency for Southern Living Magazine and working with some of the magazine’s local photographers, Lisa made the decision to pursue her own photography business; she wanted more control over her career and a better balance between work and family life.
Lisa knew she wanted to open a franchise with a proven business model and came across TSS Photography in Entrepreneur Magazine’s top 500 franchise listing. A representative from TSS Photography called Lisa back within two hours of her inquiry into the franchise opportunity and she made arrangements to visit the corporate headquarters in Duluth, Georgia.
“I was immediately impressed by the passion the corporate office had for the TSS brand and I knew that I wanted to be backed by a team that was truly proud of their products and services,” Lisa said. “My Discovery Day visit was incredibly important because I was able to see that TSS Photography was a great fit for my goals, drive and personality.”
In fact, Lisa is so driven that she networked with friends who had children on sports teams in the Birmingham, Alabama area, compiled a list of potential customers and researched local photography needs even before she signed a TSS Photography franchise agreement.
“I found that people were settling with photography companies because there were limited choices in the community,” Lisa said. “TSS Photography brought depth of product, exceptional customer service and quality to the area, all while giving back to the community.”
Lisa is overjoyed by the progress her TSS Photography franchise has made since it opened nearly eight years ago.
