7-Eleven Franchisees are independent contractors, who through a special agreement with 7-Eleven, Inc. operate one or more 7-Eleven stores in certain areas of the United States. 7-Eleven, Inc. owns or leases the building and the equipment inside the store. The Franchisee then leases or subleases the fully equipped and stocked store(s) from 7-Eleven, Inc. Many will sell gasoline and feature pay-at-the-pump credit card readers.
