Cardio Sport has figured out what motivates the mind of an athlete and created an exercise experience and system that gets the elite fitness results that athletes are seeking, while motivating them to come regularly through a unique ‘in the game simulations strategy’ and branded environment that makes them feel like they did when they played the game.

The boutique fitness studio industry is booming. Attendance at specialty gyms like Cardio Sport grew by 70% between 2012 and 2015, according to a recent report from the International Health, Racquet and Sports club Association (IHRSA).

Training and Support

Cardio Sport provides an initial 5-day training program at headquarters in Kingston, MA. Portions of the initial training may be provided via online “e-learning” modules.

Revenue Model

Members are driven to pay in full for a year membership for incentivized pricing. A mature Cardio Sport studio should attain between 150-250 members, depending upon the size of the location. Members pay an annual fee to participate in classes, but all other training is additional revenue. The majority of studios run 2 classes per day to sustain the membership class requirements.

A studio should target to have a minimum of 50 annual personal training clients annual on the recommended program below. For a studio with 200 members that equals just 25% of the membership. Pricing is adjusted by market. Metropolitan and more affluent markets should be scaled up.

Studio Revenue Opportunity

$200,000 + based upon number of trainers/training sessions, maximization of sports team training and utilization of other programs to drive additional revenue.
