BodyBrite’s Working Toward a Bright Future as a Beauty Spa

Bodybrite-ownersAt BodyBrite, "Let Your Beauty Shine" is their slogan AND mission statement.  BodyBrite is a beauty spa that meets the demand for laser hair removal and skin rejuvenation. It offers high-end esthetic services at an affordable price. The business targets baby boomers who want a more youthful look without having to undergo surgery. To give you an idea of how much those boomers are willing to spend, in 2011, they spent $10 billion on cosmetic non-invasive procedures. Chris and Emmanuelle Hardy, BodyBrite's co-founders, first got into franchising when they introduced the Curves franchise to France and built it into the largest fitness chain in Europe. They hope to expand BodyBrite into that same success as a beauty spa as well, and are growing steadily. Since April 2012, BodyBrite has opened 11 stores in the United States. Although, franchising hasn’t been kind to the beauty spa segment, BodyBrite has worked out the kinks. In the pre-existing beauty spa industry, there were many critical flaws:
  • big square footage
  • many employees
  • large overhead
  • unreliable equipment
  • lack of support
Through the development of new technologies and a booming demand for BodyBrite's services, they were able to create a solid business model that provides valuable, cost-effective services.
