The Samurai Sam’s Teriyaki Grill® restaurant experience is fast, fresh and healthy. We serve tasty Japanese favorites at an affordable price, using only the highest quality ingredients.
The first Samurai Sam’s opened in Scottsdale, Arizona in 1994. The original vision for the restaurant was to create a menu that featured healthy, fresh Japanese dishes with plenty of mouthwatering teriyaki sauce. This vision is still evident today, as the menu at Samurai Sam’s® offers Japanese favorites, including a variety of rice bowls filled with generous portions of marinated, grilled steak, chicken, shrimp or salmon, fresh wok-stirred veggies and steamed rice, all topped with Sam’s Teriyaki sauce.
Our menu also includes a variety of other mouthwatering dishes, from yakisoba noodle bowls and specialty wraps to flavorful salads and tasty sides such as our grilled egg rolls.
Since the opening of the first Samurai Sam's, we've expanded across the globe. In the process we've built a name for ourselves in the quick-service restaurant category. Armed with proven methods and quality products, we've developed a loyal customer base. Our core mission is to provide guests with a healthy and satisfying alternative to traditional fast food. It's this simple philosophy that keeps our guests coming back to Wok the Healthy Path®!
Samurai Sam’s Teriyaki Grill has been named #1 Asian Fast Food Chain by Entrepreneur® magazine on four occasions.

"My partner and I purchased an existing Samurai Sam's restaurant in 2008 as a fluke investment opportunity. Having zero knowledge or experience in owning a restaurant, I have to say, being part of the Kahala franchise operation was definitely the key to our success. We would definitely consider additional opportunities with Kahala." – Mark S., Samurai Sam’s Franchisee, Arizona
"Being a profitable Samurai Sam’s franchisee is easy if you follow their winning recipe for success. They perfected the teriyaki bowl by using only quality ingredients prepared in easy to follow steps. Their marketing department is top level, always creating exciting effective advertising material to introduce new products as well as campaigns to draw new customers to my location. Our great, healthy and tasteful selections coupled with our exclusive Samurai Sam’s teriyaki sauce has kept customers coming back to my Samurai Sam’s for over 8 years." – Steve M., Samurai Sam’s Franchisee, Arizona
