Big Franchise Family of Brands

Intensive worldwide branding certainly is one of the key indicators of a successful franchise. According to ToastTub, customers are more likely to eat at a restaurant whose menu they are familiar with. And, when the franchise is part of a large, well-recognized group of companies, it is even better set for success. Many franchise brands in America you know well are owned by larger companies that, incidentally consumers don’t know by name. Here, you’ll find different investment companies that own popular franchises.

YUM! Family of Brands

Formerly, YUM! operated under the name PepsiCo and later Tricon Global Restaurants, Inc. The Kentucky based company runs a wide range of fast-food chains all over the world. Yum! owns KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and WingStreet.

Founded in 1997, the group of companies continues to provide “yummy” foods for its market all over the world. The company runs 43,617 franchise locations in 135 countries. This places it at the apex of the world's key players in the fast-food industry.

WingStreet is the brand of YUM! which specializes in chicken wings, sauces, and French fries. With headquarters in Plano, TX, the franchise has about five thousand restaurants in Canada and the United States.

Pizza Hut is an international franchise that’s been selling pizza since 1958. The chain of restaurants has signature Italian-American cuisines, especially pasta, pizza, desserts, and side dishes.

A fast-food subsidiary of Yum! Brands Inc., Taco Bell, is a California franchise that’s been around since 1982. It mainly sells tacos, nachos, burritos, and quesadillas. Most people know Taco Bell for its inventive menu and creative Mexican food combinations. The franchise has openings in several countries across America, Europe, and Asia.

After Jack Massey and John Brown bought Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) from Harland Sanders in 1964, the investment grew, and more units opened. In 2002, Tricon became Yum! Brands Inc., which owns the KFC restaurant franchise today. KFC is the world’s second-largest food franchise after McDonald's with more than 30,000 locations and $15 billion annual revenue.
