Financial Assistance

The DSS team of experienced funding professionals has access to a variety of financing options, both conventional and unconventional. Signature loans, SBA loans, hard asset loans, the ability to borrow against a secured CD, and retirement account rollovers are just a few of the options available through our network of independent lenders and brokers. Because of our experience and relationships with lending agencies, we know precisely what they are looking for. This also means that, in most instances we know how to cut through any red tape in a timely manner. Know what the best part is? The process is practically hassle-free for you - everything is coordinated by our experienced funding staff.

How Does Financing Work?

100% financing including working capital available on approved credit. For many DSS clients, the initial financing package covers the entire cost of opening their store - and includes working capital! Your funding advisor will review your financial profile and make recommendations as to the most cost-effective lending options available. Our team will assist you in preparing a detailed business plan - some lenders require one - at no additional cost. And of course we will provide whatever level of assistance you may require as we work through the funding process together.

Start-up working capital can be an important boost during those crucial first months - by freeing ownership during to completely laser-focus on developing and running a successful business.

Merchandise from Our Quality Suppliers Network

The long term success of any store revolves around merchandise. In our business, the value, variety and amount of new merchandise you provide customers are three critical variables that will determine how successful you are, and this is where we excel!

Our merchandise is provided through a vast network of suppliers, both importers and domestic closeout companies. We travel to personally see each of our suppliers on a regular basis where we inspect new dollar store merchandise to assure high value and quality, and to review hot, new merchandise. Then, we negotiate rock-bottom prices on behalf of our network. The hot, new merchandise we approve is loaded into a secure website for all store owners to use. We update new product information weekly and email this directly to our store owners.

Training and Support

Training is designed to ensure that each new owner is familiar with the many aspects of managing their store. This experience begins before and continues well after the store's opening. Your trainer will be in contact with you both before and after the store has opened. This training will include a full review of a comprehensive operations manual and related materials designed to aid you in operating your store on a day-to-day basis. Both classroom and onsite training are available, and encouraged, prior to the opening of the store.

Build out and Top Quality Fixtures

We create the "Cadillac" of Dollar and Dollar Plus Stores, as we want to make an incredible presentation to your customer base. We supply steel framed gondolas with pegboard backing, beautiful cash counters, lighted showcases; glass display units are available. We use slat board with melamine finish on all interior walls. We do not supply flooring but when it is needed the landlord will generally provide it at no cost.

Our fixtures for your Dollar or Dollar Plus store are designed to be used on higher priced goods as well, so they can be used for many, many years. We also provide an allowance for outdoor signage and interior store signs. We send a professional installer to the store location to install the slat board and all fixtures. Then, the work crew will stock merchandise and ready the store for the grand opening.

You are the owner of the store and have 100% control over all aspects of your business. Since we are NOT a franchise, there are no ongoing royalties or fees, but you DO receive permanent long-term support and access to the purchasing network. From the beginning you have total control over all decisions regarding YOUR store, including site location, store layout, timing of opening and merchandise.

Company History

James Wichert, owner and president of Dollar Store Services, Inc. started in the industry in 1992 when he opened the first dollar store in Las Vegas. Shortly thereafter, he began to receive inquiries from customers and tourists about assisting them in opening stores throughout the United States. This became the beginning of the store development operations.

The store development business has steadily grown and Dollar Store Services was incorporated in 1995. Since he started in the dollar store business, Mr. Wichert has assisted over 3,500 individuals open stores throughout the United States and worldwide. Recently, Dollar Store Services Inc. has opened Canadian and Latin American based operations.

Today, the company continues to grow at a fast pace. Current plans are to open over 200 Dollar and Dollar Plus Stores annually throughout North America and this feat requires dedication and knowledge by all involved. Wichert is very pleased that the storeowner's are able to rely on his staff of experienced professionals. "The staff's superior dedication is at the heart of the Company's success," states Wichert. Wichert also owns a large wholesale company, which supplies over 18,000 products to its customers.
